Alexey Gavrilov's dance career began at the age of 6 at one of the top dance schools in Russia. He represented his city and country at prestigious Russian and international competitions winning numerous awards. A few of his many accomplishments include Champion and Best Couple of the Year of the Chelyabinsk Region Ballroom Competition, Champion of the Seattle Star Ball in the Latin and Standard program, Champion of the Autumn Classic and recently became Vice Champion of the 2015 Argentine Tango USA Official Tango Championship in the stage category.

His teaching career started early on working with students of all age groups. As an award winning choreographer, he trained and choreographed for competitive couples who went on to consistently place within the top 3 in the US National Ballroom Competitions.   

Alexey received his Master’s degree with honors in Ballroom Dancing and Choreography at the Ural Governmental University of Physical Culture and is in the process of pursuing his PhD. He is a member of the Federal Dance Sport of Russia, World Dance Sport Federation, USA Dance, National Dance Council of America, and Professional Dance Vision International Dance Association.  


Aki Kudo was born in Japan and raised in New York. She began dancing at the age of 10 in various dance disciplines such as Tap, Jazz, Ballet, and Hip Hop. She was accepted into the Steps Conservatory Scholarship program in NYC where she trained with renown national and international dance instructors.

She attended Sophia University in Japan while continuing to teach dance to children and adults of all ages in both NY and Japan. In addition to her accomplishments within the arts, Aki has 10 years of professional experience in the Fashion Advertising Industry as a Production/ Creative Operations Manager and Art Director.  

In 2012 she began Ballroom Dance as well as Argentine Tango where she found her true passion. She has trained with world renown tango masters and choreographers such as Guillermo Salvat, Andrea Monti, and Maximiliano Cristiani. Her most recent awards are within the tango stage category. Aki is the 2014 Champion of both San Francisco's Argentine Tango USA Official Tango Championship and the 8th Original US Argentine Tango Championship held in New York and Vice Champion of the 2015 Argentine Tango USA Official Tango Championship.

Alexey and Aki's lessons are for everyone including people with disabilities or special needs.
